I was one of Dr. Corbett’s first patients. By the time I saw Dr. Corbett my gum disease was fairly well advanced. I had two surgeries and since them I have appointments every four months for root planing. I always see Dr. Corbett after every visit as she likes to check everything. Her staff is excellent. I would certainly recommend Dr. Corbett to anyone requiring a periodontist.

I have been a patient of Dr. Corbett’s since June 2002. I had serious gum disease and was at risk of losing all my teeth when I first went to Dr. Corbett (four teeth had already fallen out). After a thorough assessment, Dr. Corbett asked my opinion of the condition of my gums and teeth and then presented me with my treatment options. I underwent two dental surgeries, which was easier for me than having a tooth pulled, and continue with regular appointments for cleanings and assessment. Dr. Corbett’s expertise, the time she spends assessing and discussing options and her compassion to an extremely sensitive mouth, as anyone with gum disease would attest to, have helped to keep my teeth in my mouth! Dr. Corbett works with assistants and hygienists who all have the same level of regard to a sensitive mouth and with the slightest indication that something may be uncomfortable will stop what they are doing. The sensitivity in my mouth has decreased over time. The receptionists work hard to accommodate appointments and are very good with ‘reminders’ a few days prior to your next appointment. I often recommend Dr. Corbett to others. We all know that gum disease can affect overall health. We are very fortunate in Brandon to have the specialist services of Dr. Corbett, Periodontist.

I began coming to see Dr. Corbett and her dental team in 2007. At that time and over a course of the next 2 years, I had 3 skin grafts on my gums and a bone graft. They were very kind and explained all procedures in a way that anyone can understand. Dr. Corbett made a personal phone call the next day to check up on my progress. Since 2007, I also started to come for my cleanings as I felt that they did a very thorough job accompanied with some dental hygiene instructions. From then on, every appointment was accompanied with dental hygiene teaching. You can observe good working relationships with all the staff with every visit from receptionist to Dr. Corbett. I love my teeth with the care of Dr. Corbett – I now enjoy smiling. With the professional care I receive, the friendly staff and the modern up-to-date equipment, I now look forward to my dental appointments. All are friendly, professional staff. My first dental examination with Dr. Corbett was on October 26, 1998. For the first time in my life I received a deep cleaning, whereby the hygienist cleaned out all of my infected tissue and removed hardened tartar under my gums. What an experience!! My teeth felt clean for the first time in years! I have had three gum surgeries, as my periodontal disease was in an advanced stage. Thanks to Dr. Corbett, periodontal treatment saved my teeth. I now have an appointment every four months. I look forward to my visits to Smiles Specialty Centre………and yes I am serious…….. serious about my oral health. In my thirties my dentist informed me that I had very healthy strong teeth and that if I wanted to keep them I would need pay special attention to the health of my gums……….I had gingivitis and if I did not properly tend to this condition it would progress to serious periodontal disease. Before knowing Dr. Trudy Corbett I had a terrible habit of avoiding necessary dentistry treatments for many years. I always felt so disrespected, certainly not valued or listened to as a patient.
